About the Author

Francesco Maccapani Missoni is the grandson of Tai and Rosita Missoni, the founders of the eponymous fashion brand, and the son of Angela Missoni and Marco Maccapani. Born in 1985, he grew up surrounded by his boisterous extended family in the countryside outside Milan. After studying architecture in college, he pursued his passion for design, film, and contemporary art. He currently leads a startup based in Milan and is known to be una buona forchetta (a gourmet). Francesco's love for food and cooking has a strong emphasis on family traditions, sustainable sources, local produce, and fresh seasonal ingredients.

The Missoni Family Cookbook includes a forward by Quincy Jones, a close family friend. Quincy's career spans across various roles, including composer, record producer, artist, film producer, arranger, conductor, instrumentalist, TV producer, magazine founder, multimedia entrepreneur, author, and humanitarian. Time magazine has named him one of the most influential artists of the 20th century, and in 2010 he was awarded the National Medal of Arts, the highest artistic honor in the United States. Alongside his extensive non-profit work with NGOs like UNICEF, Quincy manages and mentors a roster of young musicians. Francesco is proud to have prepared meals and shared recipes with his honorary "uncle," and gained the approval of this esteemed talent scout and gourmet.
