The work of Fernando and Humberto Campana is born and reborn of glass. It embodies the spirit of Brazil, which finds its answer to the crisis in transformation and creativity. By reusing the material of the fornace (glass furnace), new life is created. Fragments is available as a wall lamp.
The Campana brothers drew inspiration from the insecurity in their country and focused on versatility as the leitmotif for their Fragments collection.
The mista technique refers to the combination of several techniques used by the master to create objects of precious glass with a special character. The balanced mix of several techniques gives the work a strong character and enriches its identity.
Fernando and Humberto have been inspired by the incredible creativity of Brazilian popular culture and are known for being ironic, inventive and innovative. This has cemented their reputation around the world. The two brothers have been working together in San Paolo since 1983, with Fernando having a degree in architecture and Humberto, a lawyer, being a self-taught artist involved in the partnership. In 1989 they created their first collection called "Desconfortveis" and later they collaborated with Edra to create the "Vermehla Chair", exhibited at MoMA in New York with Ingo Maurer. In 2008 they were awarded "Designers of the Year" by Design Miami and in 2009 they presented a major retrospective called "The Antibodies" at the Vitra Design Museum. They began their collaboration with VENINI in 2005 with the creation of the Campane di Campana.
