This large-format volume beautifully presents the magnificence of the Ottoman Empire and its legendary sultans, from the founding of the Ottoman dynasty to its fabled territorial conquests. The legacy of the thirty-six Ottoman sultans has undeniably left its mark throughout history, with their military prowess, artistic patronage, and expert political command. Their clothes represented the ultimate in status and wealth, adorned with gold thread, fur linings, diamond studding, and vibrant colors that were as decadent as their lifestyles. Lavishly decorated caftans and exquisite portraits are featured in this book, showcasing imagery that speaks to the opulence and grandeur of the Ottoman Empire.
