This lavishly illustrated book follows the journey of one of the world's most iconic wristwatches through archive images and original photographs, complemented by an evocative text by historian, journalist, and horological expert Nicholas Foulkes.

In 1931, during the Art Deco era's height, the Reverso was born in response to the challenge of creating a wristwatch that could survive polo matches. It embodied the era's essence - a time when the spirit of modernity revolutionized everything, from social norms to architecture, music, sport, and every design field. With its sleek form and unique reversible case, the Reverso became an eternal symbol of modernity for 90 years, constantly reinventing itself while maintaining its identity. Its flip side, which began as a practical solution, evolved into a canvas for creative expression, decorated with enamel, engravings, or gemstones.

Apart from tracing the watch's history and evolution over the past nine decades - with more than 50 calibres and several hundred dials - the book explores the social and cultural changes that provided the Reverso's backdrop and subsequent reinventions. It features the stories of over a dozen Reverso owners who personalized their watches in profound ways. Additionally, it delves into the fascinating tale of Jaeger-LeCoultre's founders, their inventions that had a profound impact on horological history, and the Maison's development as an integrated Manufacture, encompassing 180 skills under one roof.
