About the Author

Richard David Story is an accomplished editor who serves as the editor in chief of Departures, a luxury lifestyle magazine exclusively available to American Express Platinum Card® and Centurion® members across 18 international editions. Additionally, he is the editorial director of Black Ink, a bi-annual publication created specifically for Centurion® members. During his tenure at Departures, the magazine has won several prestigious awards, including the American Society of Magazine Editors’ Award in the Best Single-Topic Issue category for its Latin Issue, and a nomination for the James Beard Foundation M.F.K. Fisher Distinguished Writing Award for the Colman Andrews article “Everything Comes from the Sea.” Departures has also received five citations from the Society of Publication Designers, and in 2011, the magazine claimed first place in the Travel category of Adweek’s Hot List.
