About the Author

Paul Moorhouse is a curator and art historian based in London. He has served as the senior curator and head of displays at the National Portrait Gallery in London from 2005 to 2017 and as a senior curator at the Tate from 1985 to 2005. Moorhouse has played a significant role in the development of the Tate Modern and Tate Britain. He has curated various international exhibitions and authored several books and exhibition catalogues on major contemporary and modern artists such as Anthony Caro, Salvador Dalí, Alberto Giacometti, Howard Hodgkin, Hans Hofmann, Richard Long, Gerhard Richter, Bridget Riley, Cindy Sherman, and Andy Warhol. Currently, he is the chief executive of the Anthony Caro Studio.
