About the Artist
Laurence Bonnel was born in Paris in 1976 and discovered her passion for sculpture in 1998, after taking courses in Art History and literature that focused on the figure of the artist. The human figure holds a significant place in Bonnel's works, particularly the creation of architectural silhouettes with a primitive quality, emitting a grand presence. The motif of the human form, whether as couples or in crowds, is central to her imagination and purified with formal stylization that immediately brings to mind the art of Giacometti or the Cubist bodies of Zadkine.
