About the Artist
Cyril Phan, also known as Kongo, is a renowned French artist and major representative of the graffiti scene for nearly thirty years. Born in 1969, he spent his childhood between Saigon, the Republic of the Congo, and France, gathering inspiration from various cultures. Kongo quickly became fascinated with street art and chose graffiti as his favorite medium of expression. His works reflect multicultural influences and deliver messages of peace, love, light, and abundance.Kongo's encounter with Daum opened up a whole new territory of expression with the use of crystal, revealing explosive colors that characterize his works. He crystallized an iconic object of his universe, the spray-paint can, for Daum. Kongo created "With love," three spray-paint cans made of "pâte de cristal" with an 18-carat golden spray tip bearing his fingerprint. Each piece is unique and bespoke, handcrafted by the artist himself.
