About the Collection
To celebrate the 140th anniversary of Maison Daum, the creation workshop drew inspiration from the influences of the past to create a new collection: "Empreinte," which reinterprets the Art Deco style of the 1930s. From glass to crystal and floral inspirations, Daum pays homage to its heritage through the use of the "pâte de cristal" and lost wax techniques. The collection was inspired by the iconic mushroom lamp "Resonance" from the Art Nouveau period, and pays tribute to the second-strongest movement of the French Decorative Arts in which Daum played an essential role.The "Empreinte" collection features three vases and two candleholders, with a large green emerald gilded vase serving as the centerpiece. The buttercups and plants sculpted in the material by the modeling workshop transform into a modern work of art while embodying a traditional craft. Two vases in deep blue or emerald green introduce a new palette of colors created by the artisans of the Nancy Manufacturer.For this anniversary, Maison Daum embodies the history of French decorative arts by creating a collection that reinterprets the aesthetic codes of Art Deco in a contemporary spirit.
