The work by VENINI captivates with an essential décor and a simple structure with minimalist arms and bowls. It saw the light of day in 1924 and has lost none of its modernity to this day. Made with the Rigadin technique in the colour Cristallo (crystal), with parallel, plastically curved stripes that are drawn straight forward. The Porpora (purple) chandelier is also available as a wall light.
The Porpora collection consists of modern designed glass that looks like shiny metal. Since the 1920s, this innovative design has been synonymous with Paolo Venini's creativity.
About the Technique
The Rigadin technique involves blowing a glass ball into a bronze mould with grooves of triangular cross-section. This creates a ribbed pattern inside the glass. By additionally turning the mould, one can create the twisted rigadin (rigadin ritorto).
