Massimo Nava, born in Milan, started his career in journalism as a member of the editorial staff of Avvenire at the age of nineteen. After earning a degree in literature and philosophy from the University of Milan, he worked for Corriere della Sera, Italy’s leading national daily newspaper, covering several noteworthy conflicts around the world and serving as a correspondent in Paris. Nava has authored several nonfiction books and novels and is currently a columnist for Corriere della Sera.Oberto Gili discovered his passion for photography at an early age, inspired by Michelangelo Antonioni's film Blow-Up. He moved to London in the early 1970s to work as an assistant to photographer Michael Joseph before relocating to Milan to work for publisher L’Esperto. Gili has since traveled the world taking pictures for publications such as Condé Nast, New York Magazine, and The Washington Post Magazine.
