Author and photographer Claiborne Swanson Frank explores the meaning of modern motherhood in the 21st century through her latest body of work. She focuses her lens on 70 iconic families of mothers and children, including celebrated names such as Carolina Herrera, Delfina Figueras, Anne Vyalitsyna, Lauren Santo Domingo, Aerin Lauder, and Patti Hansen. Swanson Frank's stunning portraits capture the emotional bonds and beauty that frame the primal relationship between a mother and her child. In addition to her portraits, she includes a series of questions-and-answers in which she asks each mother to express what being a mother truly means to them. These deeply intimate and moving answers are both thoughtful and introspective, as well as amusing and fascinating. Through this profound journey, Swanson Frank reminds us all of the power of motherhood and the great gift of love. Each portrait in this collection is sure to captivate and inspire readers.
