François Demachy, the perfumer-creator of Dior, has been granted exceptional creative freedom to draw on the remarkable heritage of the maison and compose bold and unique fragrances using the finest and rarest ingredients. These perfumes are crafted with respect for artisanal traditions and explore creative olfactory territories.

La Collection Privée Christian Dior consists of sixteen perfumes and four Precious Elixirs, all formulated with exceptional materials, including Florentine iris, Indonesian oud, and jasmine from Grasse that are grown and harvested exclusively for Dior. Each fragrance features a specific Dior reference at its heart. The book is beautifully illustrated and accompanied by evocative text written by fragrance expert Élisabeth de Feydeau, which unveils the creative journey behind this exquisite tour de force of haute parfumerie from Dior.

François Demachy, Dior's perfumer-creator since 2006, grew up in Grasse, where he developed a love for fine materials and learned the alchemical secrets of perfumery. He maintains special relationships with suppliers to source exceptional ingredients for his creations and perpetuates the heritage of Christian Dior with rigor and creativity.

About the Author

Élisabeth de Feydeau is an author and consultant with a doctorate in history from the Sorbonne. She has worked for some of the top brands in the French perfume industry and in 2011 she founded Arty Fragrance, a consulting company that specializes in luxury fragrance development, communication, and training. In addition to her work in the industry, Feydeau is also a professor at the ISIPCA perfume school in Versailles and has written several books, including A Scented Palace: The Secret History of Marie Antoinette’s Perfumer (Tauris, 2006). She is also a curator of exhibitions and a host of workshops and conferences around the world.
