Marc-Alain Ouaknin is a rabbi and doctor of philosophy. He is the director of the ALEPH Center for Jewish Studies in Paris and an associate professor at the University of Bar-ilan in Israel, where he teaches philosophy and comparative literature. Ouaknin is the author of several books, including The Burnt Book, I'll Tell You a Story, Mysteries of the Alphabet, and Mysteries of the Kabbalah. He has also collaborated with Assouline on two publications, Symbols of Judaism (1995) and Haggadah: The Passover Story (2001), which he co-authored with renowned painter Gerard Garouste.
