About the Décor

The Melon Service is available in a variety of colours, including pink, light blue, red, yellow, turquoise, orange, black, purple, green and black gold. Due to its numerous curves, it still requires a high degree of precision craftsmanship on the part of Augarten's porcelain painters.

About the Collection

In 1929, Josef Hoffmann, the founder of the legendary "Wiener Werkstätte", created the world-famous mocha service. Hoffmann is considered one of the most important designers of the 20th century and was part of the "Vienna Secession" with artists such as Gustav Klimt, Adolf Loos and Otto Wagner. The mocha service still places the highest demands on Augarten's porcelain painters today, due to its numerous curves and complex form.

The exoticism of the fruit shapes with their perky stemmed knobs and the pleasantly grippy handles, whose slight undulation elegantly reflects the softly ribbed walls of the vessels, characterise the charisma of this service. The mocha service is a timeless work of art and reflects Hoffmann's outstanding skills as a designer.
