Yaffa Assouline is a journalist, consultant, and creative art director who specializes in innovative and personalized publishing. She is renowned for her work on the first luxury website, luxuryculture.com, and for developing the first in-flight magazine, Air France Madame. She has also authored the book MIA: I. M. Pei, showcasing the work of architect I. M. Pei for the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha, Qatar, through photographer Keiichi Tahara's lens. She has worked as a creative art director and senior adviser for the Qatar Museums Authority, supervising the opening of the Museum of Islamic Art. Assouline is also the author of several books, including Uzbekistan: The Road to Samarkand, Uzbekistan: Avant-Garde Orientalists, and Uzbekistan: Russian Avant-Garde.Laziz Hamani is an exceptional photographer with a constant search for aesthetics and meaning. Of Berber origin, he was born and currently resides in Paris. His work includes collaborations with renowned luxury brands such as Dior, Cartier, Jaeger-LeCoultre, and designer Axel Vervoordt. Hamani has collaborated with Assouline on over twenty titles, including his photography for Uzbekistan: The Road to Samarkand. He brings an unparalleled simplicity to his work, from the intricate details of high jewelry to the purity of minimalist design, evoking power and beauty to his images and creating a dialogue with the viewer. Hamani is known for his curiosity, eclectic tastes, and being a self-taught man, always demanding perfection and a dreamer at heart.
