About the Author

Adrian Cheng is a global art collector and an influential figure in the art world. He is particularly dedicated to collecting contemporary Chinese art and founded the non-profit K11 Art Foundation to promote emerging artists internationally. Cheng holds positions in several leading art institutions such as the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Met in New York, and the Royal Academy in London.

John Dodelande is an entrepreneur, businessman, and investor with a passion for collecting Chinese contemporary art. Over the last decade, he has amassed a collection from many of China’s most significant living artists, forging a close relationship with them through personal visits to their studios. Dodelande uses his collection to give young Chinese artists the recognition they deserve, lending artworks to museums and staging events. He believes that art has the power to build cultural connections between East and West, and was the first to arrange a contemporary Chinese art exhibit in Georgia. He is particularly drawn to pieces with elements of humor, poetry, and humanity.
